Awards submission

Use this skill when an award, ranking or list is worth entering: should we apply for, the awards deadline, the industry innovation award, best places to, the top vendors list, the nomination form. Produces the awards calendar with the ones worth entering and the ones to skip, and the completed submission draft with cleared proof, in the form's structure and word limits.

This applies quarterly for the calendar and per deadline for the submission. It produces third-party proof the ICP recognizes, at a cost the quarter can justify.

Before you start

This skill works on its own. If the person has their own marketing brain (or any folder of context files about their company), read the files listed under reads in the header first and cite them for every fact. If they do not have one, do not look for one: ask for the two or three facts this play needs and go on. Never invent a fact; a blank is a question for the person.

Tools: this play speaks in verbs (check the CRM, pull the call, schedule the post). TOOLS.md at the root of this repo lists the tools recommended for each verb. The company’s own 1-context/stack.md wins when it exists. No tool is required; a spreadsheet and a mail client cover most of it.

The play

  1. Read the context (see Before you start). Build the awards calendar for the segment: association awards, trade publication rankings, event awards, regional business lists. Record the deadline, fee, criteria, judging panel and what the winner gets (a logo, a feature, a stage slot).
  2. Score each: does the ICP recognize it, is the proof available, does the fee pay back in sales assets, is a customer willing to be named. Enter the ones that pass; skip pay-to-play lists the ICP ignores.
  3. For each submission, map the form’s questions to proof in the tracker. Clear every customer, number and screenshot through permission-check; a question with no cleared proof gets a role-only answer or is left honest.
  4. Draft to the form’s structure and word limits. Lead each answer with the result, then how, then the customer’s words as cleared. No superlatives beyond the cleared claims.
  5. Run brand-voice. Assemble the assets: logos, screenshots, a customer reference contact who agreed to be contacted.
  6. Deliver the draft and the asset list to the human who submits. Log the deadline in 5-current/calendar.md.
  7. When a result comes: capture the win in the proof tracker and hand to social-post, customer-update-email and the leave-behind; log a loss with what the judges wanted.

What good looks like

  • The best operator enters three awards the ICP recognizes and wins one, then uses it for a year.
  • The mediocre version enters every list that emails them and pays for badges nobody has heard of.
  • Good output is a submission that answers every question with a cleared result and a named customer.

Rules

  • MUST clear every customer, number and screenshot through permission-check.
  • MUST confirm the customer reference agreed to be contacted by the judges.
  • NEVER submit; the human submits.
  • NEVER enter an award whose judging the ICP would not recognize without a stated reason.
